INTERNATIONAL INTEREST MARKS A SUCCESSFUL START TO THE FOAL AUCTION 111 SEASON

Foal Auction 111 successfully kicked off its new auction season on Saturday evening. Held at the Azelhof, the first auction of the year combined a high-quality collection of jumping foals, a beautiful summer evening, and strong international demand, resulting in a highly successful event. Intense bidding and interest from buyers across the globe once again confirmed the confidence in the quality of the collection on offer.

The top-priced foal of the evening was Christian KH Z, a promising colt by Comme Il Faut out of a Big Star mare, with the legendary MoM’s Carlina IV as his granddam. After an exciting bidding battle, the hammer fell at €24,000, with the colt heading to his new owners in Sweden.

Another crowd favourite was Cosmo des Sequoias Z. This modern colt by Comme Il Faut out of a Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve mare that competed successfully at 1.60m level impressed buyers with both his pedigree and athletic type. He was eventually sold for €23,000 and will continue his career in the United States.

Completing the top three was Don Diego van ‘t Pardassenhof, a quality colt by Chacco-Blue out of a Tinka’s Boy mare that has already produced a 1.60m performer. Strong interest from multiple bidders saw him sell for €22,000 to buyers from Germany.

With an average price of just over €12,500 and all but one foal finding a new owner, both breeders and buyers can look back on a very successful opening auction of the season. Once again, Foal Auction 111 demonstrated its international appeal, attracting buyers from several countries who invested in the outstanding genetics and quality of the collection.

Preparations for the next auction are already well underway. On Saturday, 23 August, Foal Auction 111 will host its annual Filly Edition, an exclusive auction featuring a carefully selected collection of outstanding filly foals.
